Facials, waxing, nails, shaving, lashes, and your bridal spray tan can all affect your skin and your final color. Planning them in the right order helps prevent uneven tanning, irritation, or accidentally exfoliating away your glow right before the wedding.

At Bronze & Beyond in St. Cloud, Minnesota, we help brides plan their wedding spray tan from the trial through wedding week. Here's our recommended bridal beauty timeline.

3–6 Weeks Before the Wedding: Your Bridal Spray Tan Trial

Your bridal spray tan trial is about more than deciding whether you like being tan.

This is our opportunity to customize your color, solution, development time, rinse time, and application based on your skin, desired result, and individual body.

After your color fully develops, you can tell us what you loved and anything you'd like changed. We can then use your trial details and feedback to plan your final wedding spray tan.

Your trial can also do double duty. If the timing works, schedule it before an engagement photo session, bridal shower, bachelorette celebration, or another pre-wedding event.

What about your hair and makeup trial?

If you'd like to see your complete bridal look together, you can coordinate your spray tan trial with your hair and makeup trial.

The important part is giving your spray tan enough time to fully develop first. Your artist can help you determine the appropriate timing based on the solution and development plan selected for your trial.

7–10 Days Before the Wedding: Facial

If you're planning a facial, schedule it well before your final spray tan.

Facials can involve exfoliation, active ingredients, extractions, oils, masks, and other treatments that may affect how tanning solution develops on your skin.

Scheduling your facial approximately 7–10 days before your wedding gives your skin time to settle before your final tan.

Wedding week is also not the time to experiment with an aggressive facial or completely new treatment. Stick with services and products you already know work well for your skin.

Several Days Before Your Spray Tan: Waxing

Brows, bikini waxing, and other waxing services should be completed before your final spray tan.

Waxing removes more than hair—it can also exfoliate the surface of the skin. Tanning too soon afterward can contribute to uneven development or irritation.

Plan waxing several days before your spray tan whenever possible so your skin has time to recover.

Before Your Final Spray Tan: Nails & Lashes

Try to complete your other beauty appointments before your wedding spray tan whenever possible.

Manicure & Pedicure

Schedule your manicure and pedicure before your tan, ideally allowing at least 24 hours between nail services and your spray tan appointment.

Pedicures in particular may include soaking, scrubs, lotions, oils, or massage products—all things we'd rather have happen before we create your final color.

Lash Extensions

If you're getting a full set or lash fill for your wedding, plan it before your final spray tan when possible.

That keeps your spray tan toward the end of your wedding beauty schedule and reduces the number of beauty appointments you need after your color has been applied.

The Day Before Your Spray Tan: Shave, Exfoliate & Prep

Your final skin prep should happen before your spray tan—not the day of your appointment.

Shave and complete your final exfoliation the day before your tan. Avoid razors with moisturizing strips, which can leave ingredients behind on the skin.

Pay particular attention to areas prone to dryness or buildup, but don't aggressively scrub your skin.

Then arrive for your spray tan with clean skin and follow the specific prep instructions provided by Bronze & Beyond.

2 Days Before the Wedding: Your Final Bridal Spray Tan

For many brides, the final wedding spray tan will be approximately 2 days before the wedding—but we don't treat every bride exactly the same.

Your ideal timing can depend on your selected solution, development and rinse timing, wedding schedule, and what we learned during your trial.

That's one of the reasons we recommend a bridal trial. Instead of guessing during wedding week, we've already had an opportunity to see how your color develops and make a plan for your final tan.

Your wedding-week spray tan should generally be one of your last beauty appointments.

Once you're tan, we want to avoid unnecessary exfoliating, soaking, waxing, scrubbing, or skin treatments that could interfere with your finished color.

Wedding Day: Enjoy Your Glow

By wedding day, the work is done.

Your spray tan has developed, you've completed your initial rinse and aftercare, and your color has had time to settle into a natural-looking glow.

Continue following your aftercare instructions, moisturize as directed, and avoid unnecessary exfoliation.

Then get dressed, take approximately a million photos, and enjoy your wedding.
